A well-known golden weeping willow, Salix alba 'Tristis' is a large deciduous tree with a stout trunk topped by a beautiful open crown of pendulous, brilliant yellow twigs that hang to the ground. In the spring and summer it bears narrow, finely toothed, bright green leaves that turn yellow golden during the fall. As the weather turns cooler the leaves fall to the ground to reveal the incredible structure of the tree. This weeping willow makes a spectacular specimen tree near ponds and streams where it can reflect in the water for double the viewing pleasure. Easy to grow, easy to care for, and deer resistant it is often regarded as one of the best weeping willows.
