Potted Bald Cypress Tree (8-12"")(Taxodium Distichum)(See State Restrictions)
Potted Bald Cypress Tree The Bald Cypress tree is the classic tree of southern swamps.
There, in its native habitat, it displays a peculiar habit of raising conical "knees" from its roots.
The function of these growths is something of a mystery, although some believe it is a way to help the roots get oxygen.
This tree dwells in swamps because it out-competes most other trees on such sites.
To the surprise of some people, the Bald Cypress does quite well when planted in the right soil in yards or along streets and is a beautiful specimen tree.
It has been grown successfully in cities as far north as Milwaukee and on dry Texas hills.
The Bald Cypress can be expected to grow in Hardiness Zones 4–10.
This is an evergreen tree, keeping its foliage year-round.
The Bald Cypress grows to a height of 50–70' and a spread of around 25' at maturity.
This tree grows at a medium rate, with height increases of 13–24" per year.
Full sun is the ideal condition for this tree, meaning it should get at least six hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day.
The Bald Cypress grows in acidic, loamy, moist, sandy, silty loam, well-drained and clay soils. It is adaptable to wet or dry conditions and can withstand flooding. Is a deciduous conifer.

Specials
Special: Buy 3 potted plants or trees, get one free! Just put in a note which one you'd like or we will send you the same as your others. We ship in small containers, about 18oz plastic cups. This helps greatly to almost eliminate transplant shock. Many species of trees do not have a good survival rate when transplanted bare-root. This also allows you to plant your trees faster. These trees have been acclimated to the hot sun, but shouldn't be placed immediately into the sun again when received. Just slide out of container or cut container and plant. Make sure to water 2-3 times a week for the first year or so.
