Spiraea prunifolia, commonly called bridalwreath spirea, is a species of the genus Spiraea, sometimes spelled Spirea. It blooms in the spring, around May 5th, and is native to Japan, Korea, and China. It is quite showy when in full bloom. It is sometimes used as a garden plant elsewhere. It is a deciduous shrub with an upright, arching habit. It grows to at least four feet tall and wide. It is grown in zones 4-9 and is very hardy.
