This is a shade tree, featuring a spreading canopy capable of blocking sunlight. The Honeylocust grows to a height of 30–70 feet and a spread of 30–70 feet at maturity. This tree grows at a fast rate, with height increases of more than 24" per year. Full sun is the ideal condition for this tree, meaning it should get at least six hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day. Make sure to water 2-3 times a week for the first year or so.

We ship in small containers, about 18oz plastic cups. This helps greatly to almost eliminate transplant shock. Many species of trees do not have a good survival rate when transplanted bare-root. This also allows you to plant your trees faster. These trees have been acclimated to the hot sun, but shouldn't be placed immediately into the sun again when received. Just slide out of container or cut container and plant.
