Potted Japanese Persimmon Tree (Seedling)(Diospyros Kaki)
Potted Japanese Persimmon Tree
Diospyros Kaki
Japanese persimmon trees are very hardy and growing in popularity. They do well in heat and humidity and will not grow without some protection in the northern part of the country. All persimmon varieties, with the exception of Fuyu, are astringent, which means they must be completely ripe and soft before they are sweet. Fuyu is sweet right off the tree.
Persimmon trees grow to be about 15 feet tall and produce a lot of fruit for their size. They do best with two different varieties nearby, though some varieties produce without pollination.
